We recommend strongly that you entrust a professional with installing the Jetter. In case of a Jetter’s failure caused by wrong fitting (squeezed or bent contact pins, damaged device wiring or housing etc.) the warranty on it will become void. If you want to try installing the device on your own, here you will find illustrated step-by-step instructions.
Caution! Be careful when unplugging and reattaching the connector of the accelerator pedal module that you do not damage any contact pins.
Wait 60 to 180 seconds after turning off the ignition before proceeding with removal of the wiring harness connector from the accelerator pedal (on various car models the power supply of the engine management sensors is cut off with a delay programmed in the ECU factory settings).
If necessary, remove the accelerator pedal from the vehicle following instructions given in the repair manual for the respective car model.
Press on the retainer located on the end face (Ford Focus cars) or the lateral face (Ford Fiesta cars) of the vehicle’s wiring harness connector to unlock the connector. Unplug the harness from the accelerator pedal module by lifting up the connector.
On Mazda 3 cars, lift up by approximately 10 mm the red retainer located on the end face of the connector to unplug the connector from the accelerator pedal. Then remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.
On Opel cars, pull out by approximately 10 mm the red retainer located on the end face of the vehicle's wiring harness connector to release projecting pins of the pedal connector. Disconnect the harness and the accelerator pedal. Remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.
Now you can proceed with installation of the Jetter.
Attach the Jetter’s connector socket to the accelerator pedal plug by pushing the parts together until they are locked by the retainer. On Focus 3, Ford Fiesta 2009 and later cars the retainer for locking the Jetter housing on the pedal module connector must be positioned on the side of the dashboard’s central console. On Ford Fiesta cars built before 2008, as well as on Ford Fusion cars the retainer locking the Jetter housing on the pedal connector must be positioned on the left side of the accelerator pedal assembly.
To fit Jetter on Opel, Mazda 6, BMW and Mercedes cars it is necessary to remove the accelerator pedal from the vehicle.
The Jetter for Opel cars has a specifically designed connector (the same as used on the harness leading to the accelerator pedal). When installing Jetter in the vehicle, fit the connector parts in reverse order. If needed, remove the pedal following instructions given in the car repair manual.
Attach the stock connector of the vehicle’s wiring harness to Jetter on the side of the plug located on the Jetter housing by pushing the connection parts together until they are locked in the Jetter’s retainer, or by putting the retainer of the harness connector in the respective position (for example, as on Mazda 3 or Opel cars).
Reinstall the accelerator pedal following instructions given in the repair manual for the respective car model.
Turn ON the ignition, wait one minute, then press and release the accelerator pedal without starting the engine.
Reaccelerate several times to check subjectively for correct functioning of the accelerator pedal and running of the engine.
The CHECK ENGINE indicator light on the vehicle’s dashboard should be off. If the indicator is on, turn off the ignition and check the connections between Jetter, wiring harness of the car and the accelerator pedal module for a reliable contact.
If you want to remove Jetter from the vehicle, proceed in reverse order.
